Stated second edition with tissue-guarded frontis photograph of the author and 21 watercolor plates in black and white by Robert Talbot Kelly. 636 pages plus a selection of 32 pages of forthcoming works by Mr. Edward Arnolds. Includes two fold-out maps in the rear in excellent condition, One map shows Khartum and Omdurman and the second map is a large fold-out map, colored, showing the extent of Mhadist influence in 1895. In red cloth Hardcover with gilt illustration of racing camels embossed on cover and spine. Red color of the rear cover has bled out and lookes pale and pink instead of dark red. No damage to the inside of the book. Hinges a bit loose, but overall still a very readable copy of the title. Small research library withdrawl stamp else no markings ..
