Ex-library. Collection of thirty-three original Port of Sacramento schedules from the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce. Schedules are printed or typed in black ink on beige paper and stapled in the upper-left corner. 1937-1940. 8 1/2" x 11." Page count varies, about four pages per schedule. All pages for each schedule, complete. Each schedule has a stamp from the "California State Library Documents Dept." "A4 Sacramento" written in red colored pencil in top margin of each schedule. Pages are very clean and intact overall but have light to moderate age toning, a few wrinkles, and the occasional mark. Very Good copies. A collection of thirty-three Port of Sacramento schedules issued by the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce. Each schedule contains lists of west- and eastbound steamer traffic for different companies. Lists are categorized by company and then by westbound or eastbound routes for each company. Under each company is a list of its steamships and progress by day and month in different cities. For example, on Schedule No. 31 dated June 1, 1937, the westbound Virginian (steamer) from the American-Hawaiian SS Co. stopped in Boston June 2, Philadelphia June 5, and Brooklyn June 8, and arrived in Sacramento June 29. Among the companies represented are the American-Hawaiian SS Co., Arrow Line-Williams Line, Calmar Steamship Corporation, California Eastern Line, Dollar Steamship Lines, Grace Line-Panama Pacific Line, Luckenbach Steamship Co., McCormick Steamship Co., Pacific Coast Direct Line (Weyerhauser SS Co.), Quaker Line, Shepard Steamship Co., and Williams Steamship Co. The following is a list of each year represented by the schedules with constituent day, month, and schedule number. 1937 (nine schedules): April 1 (no. 29), June 1 (no. 31), July 1 (no. 32), August 1 (no. 33), September 1 (no. 34), October 1 (no. 35), November 1 (no. 36), December 1 (no. 37), and December 15 (no. 38). 1938 (twelve schedules): January 15 (no. 39), February 15 (no. 40), March 15 (no. 41), April 15 (no. 42), May 15 (no. 43), June 15 (no. 44), July 15 (no. 45), August 15 (no. 46), September 15 (no. 47), October 15 (no. 48), November 15 (no. 49), and December 15 (no. 50). 1939 (ten schedules): January 15 (no. 51), February 15 (no. 52), March 15 (no. 53), April 15 (no. 54), May 15 (no. 55), July 15 (no. 57), August 15 (no. 58), September 15 (no. 59), October 15 (no. 60), and November 15 (no. 61). 1940 (two schedules): February 15 (no. 62) and March 15 (no. 63).
