A Very Good copy. Program for a performance by the Santa Cecilia Choir at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. The Santa Cecilia Choir was founded in 1897. The choir is still active to this day. The group is a polyphonic, male choir whose members are seminarians from the Rachol Seminary of the Catholic Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, in Goa, India. For this program, the choir was led by Bonaventura Somma (1893-1960), an Italian conductor, composer, and organist.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding

One full-page, black-and-white, illustrated advertisement for Sherman Clay on back panel, complete. Brochure is very clean and intact except for a center horizontal fold line and slight wrinkling and age toning. A Very Good copy. A stunning piece of ephemera. Program for a performance by the noted African-American contralto, Marian Anderson (1897-1993). Anderson reached the pinnacle of her career amid tumultuous times marked by racial segregation and other forms of racial discrimination. However, Anderson's perseverance and talent paid off, and she became nationally recognized for her beautiful voice and singing ability. Among her accomplishments was a performance at the Lincoln Memorial on April 9, 1939 in which she sang in front of over 75,000 people. In 1955, Anderson also became the first African American and the first African-American woman to perform at the Metropolitan Opera. Franz Rupp (1901-1992) was a German-American pianist. This performance was at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium.. Ephemera. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: No Binding
