Beautifully engraved title page displaying great detail, with top corner professionally re-enforced to reverse + 7 engraved plates. Bound in speckled calf, rebacked in matching modern speckled calf with red lettering piece and new endpapers. Corners of prelims and last few pages professionally repaired. Some occ. foxing o/w a clean and sound copy of this early and attractive work. Dedicated to Pope Alexander VII. With allegorical title and 7 plates by Petrus Miotte depicting historical events with the Kings and Emperors paying homage to the Pope etc. This is the first edition of this historical and theological treatise that demonstrates the power and primacy of the Supreme Pontiff. The author was from Anzio.
