8 x 10 inches. Circa 1940's. Simon h Semenoff (b. 1908, d. 1981) was a Latvian ballet dancer, choreographer and teacher. After dancing in Europe in the 1920's and '30's, he came to America at the time of World War II. He danced with a number of companies in the U.S., including the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. The photo show him leaning against a gate, right hand on belt. It is inscribed "To Eleanor from S. Semenoff.". Ephemera. Book Condition: Fine. Binding: No Binding
