Newhall. Received of Mr. Hewhall Estate. Andrew Scott, Clinton, Mass. Pages are very clean and intact. Covers are clean and intact overall, but the head of the spine is chipped and the covers, edges, and corners have slight rubbing. Binding is tight. A theological book on metaphysics from a Swedenborgian perspective. Excerpt from a brief preface by the author "to the reader": "In the following pages I have discussed a theme as old as philosophy itself, and in terms worn threadbare by ages of controversy. It is only because I believe there is something substantially new in the argument here presented, and that even the hackneyed language of metaphysic may yet be clothed with living meaning, that I venture to offer to the public this brief treatise."
