First edition. 8vo. Card wrappers, lightly soiled and toned, and with a small tear to the base of the upper wrapper. Loose subscription leaf laid-in, as issued. A very good copy. The first appearance in print of Plath's poem 'The Sleepers', which was omitted from her two posthumous collections 'Crossing the Water' (1971) and 'Winter Trees' (1971), seemingly not appearing in bookform until the 'Collected Poems' (1981). The second appearance in print (and first UK appearance) of Plath's poem 'Full Fathom Five', which was originally printed about a year earlier in the spring 1959 issue of the US periodical 'The Audience' and was later included in her collection 'The Colossus and Other Poems'.
