Tsaftaridis, Father John : Seeking the Zero of Life

The Inkspot cc, Johannesburg, 2005

ISBN 0620355816

86 pages (complete). A very personal account of a truly extraordinary, even unique story from the Shoah. The island of Zakynthos defied, through its Metropolitan Chrysostomos and its Mayor (Lucas Karrer), the orders of the Nazi occupation forces to provide a list of all Jewish inhabitants of the island. Instead, Father John's grandparents, together with the populace of the beauteous island, hid the Jews in their villages. Not a single Jewish life was lost to the Shoah. This small book was published to mark the sixtieth anniversary of the end of World War 2 and is a celebration of the Zakynthians during the War. The cover has mild marking, some creasing to corners and seam but is very tight and healthy. There is a gift inscription (not from the author) on the inside front cover. The contents are very sure, clean, clear, bright, fresh, devoted, proud, conscientious. fk. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Soft cover. Jacket: No Jacket
