Having lived in Dunstable 45 years,and been a professional photographer for 25 years,in 1975,Turvey put on a photographic exhibition of his own photographs taken in that time,proving so successful (over 10,000 saw the exhibition) he conceived the idea of publishing a book covering just a quarter of a century.
This idea was shelved until 1976,when he realised that 1977 was to be the Queen's Jubilee and decided to commemorate the occasion by putting on permanent record the same important 25 years in the history of Dunstable.
The author says that 10in x 8in reprints may be ordered from any of the 400 photographs included in the book from Turvey & Turvey Photographers at 95,High Street North,Dunstable.Beds.Given that the book's publisher is Turvey & Turvey, this may be a "vanity press" edition - author publishes at his own expense - and also being the author's debut to writing and publishing,this may be quite a scarce item,with possibly,a low print run.
