“A rare print of Montreal is the aquatint by John Bluck of the sketch of the City of Montreal from the Mountian, by Lieut. E. Walsh, 49th Regiment. The original water-colour is in the Sigmund Samuel Collection, and the aquatint from this was published by “R. Ackermann’s Fine Arts Repository†in 1811. It is a handsome print, coloured by hand, showing a very small city close to the River St. Lawrence. Walsh was an artist of some ability, and his View of the Lake and Fort Erie From Buffalo Creek was also aquatinted by Bluck and published in the same year.†(Spendlove p. 67 plate 89)
