Signed typewritten letter by Sylvia Townsend Warner. Dated 1947 and was written when Warner was in Maiden Newton, Dorset. One-half page. 13 lines. Warner (1893-1978) was an English novelist and poet, who wrote many novels, short stories and poetry, anti-fascist articles and later in life, became a significant writer of feminist or lesbian sentiment. In this typewritten letter to Mr. Lester, Warner mentions her first published book, "The Espalier" that was published in 1925 and goes on to say "There was a subsequent publication in USA, I cannot remember the name of the publisher," however Warner suggest contacting The Viking Press to help located the publisher.
