[United States Senate], which is stamped in gilt on top cover. Condition: Apparently this book was subject to liquid damage, as the binding/endpapers are warped and several pages have stains [water?] on half of each page. Heavy wear to extremities of binding, spine partially split. First hinge is cracking; gutter crack between pages' 16 and 17. Faint soiling and light foxing to pages. Lightly age toned. Overall, Fair condition. Free of bookplates, stickers, writing in text, and page tears. Not a former library book. This is a historically significant book, even in Fair condition. This republished work was originally published in September 1796. Word from word, it is George Washington's farewell address to America, September 17, 1796. A wonderful, uncommon historical work, especially since it was the property of a U.S. Senator. Not a facsimile or print-on-demand book. It is the original 1900 edition. Collectible.
