Wheatley created the Duke De Richleau,a fictional character who appeared in 11 novels published between 1933 and 1970. Originally created for a murder mystery 'Three Inquisitive People',written and set in 1931 but which was not published until 1939.This the 10th of the Duc de Richleau novels,and the book in which Wheatley killed off the character - although he did reprise the character one more time in 'Gateway to Hell‘ (1970).
