Original sheet music printed on white paper in black ink. Hand-colored illustration done in soft pinks and green on front. Illustration shows a somber scene of a father comforting his two daughters, one of whom is asleep in bed. 10" x 13 1/2." Unpaginated, five pages, complete. Sheet music comprises three pages. The remaining pages are the title page on front and back page which advertises other sheet music. Sheet music is clean and intact overall but there is light smudging throughout, splitting along spine, slight age toning, and a tear on the first two pages of sheet music running most of the width of the leaf. Sheet music is still readable. A Good copy. Sheet music for the song, "Why Does Mother Stay So Long." This is a song of grief and bereavement from the perspective of children whose mother has passed.
