In 1940 Barnes and Noble purchased 461 copies at one-half cost. A dust jacket was prepared, presumably by Barnes and Noble, Inc., on brown paper with blue and maroon ink. At the bottom of the front cover and spine 'Barnes & Noble, Inc.' is printed. De Lussan was a French adventurer, well-born, who took up buccaneering to pay off his debts.
