485 pages (complete). A resolutely sturdy copy. Of interest for this book is the ex-libris plate on the front pastedown which indicates previous ownership of this copy by Sir Percy Fitzpatrick. The book has been knocked about from damp storage conditions. The boards are much worn, marked, stained. They are stoic and sure. The first free page has been cut by scissors. The contents have escaped the worst of consequences. The pages have storage stains about the edges, they are a little stiffened here and there, they have age marks about the edge-rims. Nonetheless, they are competent, very certain and confident, clean and clear, healthy and assured.
