The first English book on hunting was 'Master of the Game',written between 1406-13 by Edward,second Duke of York.Although well-known authors of the past attributed
this volume to his father,Edmund de Langley,who held the office of Master of Game,
he had no connection with the book.It remained unpublished for 500 years until in 1904 Willian A and F BAILLIE-GROHMAN produced an edition of just 600, signed+
numbered copies, with 45 plates and other illustrations.Half were reserved for England, the rest for America and the continent.The first 10 copies were printed on Japanese hand-made Vellum paper throughout and bound by Zaensdorf in White Vellum.HRH THE KING and HRH THE Prince of WALES were among the first to subscribe to that edition.
