Two volumes in one. Complete. (i-xxv) (i) 1-208 (i-iv) 209-400 (i-vi). Illustrated. complete. This is the copy belonging to King George II(I of England. It was bound Nicolas Denis Derome ()b. 1731, d. 1790). On the front cover is Derome's design that he used for books he bound for George III. (See the British Library's "Database of Bookbindings" for exact matches of this binding). The design consists of a lion on the left and a mystical bird on the right holding up a shield with a crown on top. Full brown leather. All edges gilt. Front joint and top and bottom of spine and corners repaired. Some edge wear. First two leaves and last leaft with some marginal darkening, but clean and not foxed internally. 5 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover
