British husband-and-wife author/illustrator team.Born in 1944 [Janet] and 1938 [Allan] respectively.The two met at Sunderland Teacher Training College,and married in 1969.They collaborated on many books for young readers. Although not all Allan's 100 plus titles were illustrated by Janet,though she was active from 1975.Janet died,November 1994.She had won the Kate Greenaway medal for 1978 with 'Each Peach Pear Plum'.
With their first 3 books all published in 1975 and all by Collins,this title is their 4th book and the first (of 3) for the Kestrel imprint,in 1976.Very uncommon.
