Allard's maps generally followed those of other publishers, but a few were his own. His publications superseded those of Blaeu and Jansson and are considerably prized by collectors as they are quite rare. A fine map in original colour, with a large decorative titlepiece showing a negress, cherubs, lion, ostrich, snakes, crocodiles and pyramids. Size 50 x 58 cm, in picture mount behind glass.
