George G Harrap & Co., London, 1926

458 pages (complete). Volume One only. B?asla? was a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and knew Collins well. This copy of his biography of the Irish hero is benign. The inside front pastedown has a visitor's card affixed that declares previous ownership by W J Thorne of Dunluce in Rondebosch. Thorne was a well known Cape Tonian who was a member of the ebullient 'Suicide Riding Club' who much enjoyed riding their horses in front of golfers. The ?ireann green boards are mild-mannered and comfortable. They have a discreet elegance in their repose and soundness. Within, the contents have foxing about the trim edges throughout. However, the pages are patient, thick, clean, clear, bold, certain and most pleasant. fk. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Hardcover. Jacket: No Jacket
