Sir Granville Bantock (1868-1946) was a British composer of classical music. The book is an account of his early conducting engagement for the musical play "The Gaiety Girl" which took him around the world with a musical comedy troupe going from America (New York & eastern states, Pittsburgh, San Francisco), the Pacific, Australia, and the voyage home.
