Large 8vo. Bright clean sky blue boards the titles impressed to the front and in shinning gilding to the spine. Decorative epp's the previous carefull owners gift inscription is written neatly on the dedication page---" Dedicated to All those Merchant Adventurers and Master mariners, Shipwrights and Sawyers and Shellbacks and other Seafaring Folk who built up America's Mighty Sailing Marine".Frontis shows "Stowing Topsails" a painting by Capt.Petersen.The jacket alas has seen better weather and has been put in dry dock a couple of times for repairs. It is mainly intact the topsail by the spine is missing a small piece of canvas about1/2" at the front corner and another at the rear about 1" by 1/2". A small damp stain to the front and a closed tear at the stern. all have been plugged by the carpenter.. Illustr.: Illustrated Throughout Wit B/W Plate and Scale drawings/Plans.
