Note and Index in the back. Bookseller's sticker tipped in on front pastedown: "Bought of Sloman's Library, King Street, Yarmouth." Pages are very clean and intact except for light age toning. There is surface tearing on the front pastedown, but the rest of the endpapers are clean and intact. Covers are very clean and intact except for slight wear to the corners, edges, and front and back outer joints, with the most wear being to the bottom edges. Binding is tight. A Very Good copy. Excerpt from the Translator's Preface: "The present translation is substantially a reprint of that which was published in 1828; but I have carefully revised the whole; and moreover, the text has been throughout compared with the original by Dr. Leonhard Schmitz." Some of the changes in this edition include omission of some of the inscriptions relating to the Athenian public economy, a corrected transcript of an ancient stone inscription of a proposal or advertisement for a lease, and the inclusion of Boeckh's dissertation about the Silver Mines of Laurion, which had previously been published separately..
