James N. Butler writes his friend, Winthrop H. Dudley (1816-1906), the Rockingham County Treasurer, and asks him, "how goes the political times". He says, "there was the most figuring at Concord last week I ever saw in any campaign whatever." He adds that he hopes to see more voters added to the Democratic Party in their area.. Manuscript.
