Original billhead printed in black ink on light beige paper. Also includes handwriting in black ink. Datelined March 11, 1896 in Auburn, California. 8 1/2" x 7." Billhead is very clean and intact overall except for light age toning, a few horizontal and vertical fold lines, slight wrinkling, a closed tear at top along one of the fold lines (measures about 1"), and slight wear to extremities. A Very Good copy. An original billhead from C. C. Crosby of Auburn, California to "Mr. John Woodard." There are five line items for October 23 and 26, November 8, and March 1 and 3 which include the following descriptions: "horse and buggy," "conveying to New Castle [Newcastle]," and "feed of horse hay & grain over night." The printed header reads, "To C. C. Crosby, Dr., Empire Livery Stable; Good Teams, Saddle Horses, Fine Carriages and Buggies. All Orders in the Livery Business Promptly Attended to. All Bills Payable on the First of Each Month. Transcient [sic?] and Boarding Horses Well Cared For.". Ephemera. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good.
