Lon Chaney (1883-1930) was an American stage and film actor, make-up artist, director, and screenwriter. He is considered one of the most accomplished figures in early cinema. His ability to play numerous roles using his make-up techniques earned him the nickname, "The Man of a Thousand Faces."
