Whitby Township, a historic township in the former Ontario County (now durham Region), is today part of the Town of Whitby. Whitby East was formed from the eastern part of the township in 1858 and is now part of Oshawa. This attractive colored map shows landowners, rail lines, school houses, post offices, and communities and includes an inset showing the townships' location within Ontario County.
