true first edition. jacket is not price clipped and has 10s 6d on the flap. no mention of 'world of chance' on rear panel. the jacket is bright and attractive. there is some fraying to the spine ends and a small chip at the top. the rear panel is marked. there is a small bookshop stamp (nickleby's) on the front flap of the jacket and under the front board. these marks are very small and are not unattractive. there is a small tear on the hinge between the front board and the half title page. some light foxing and off-setting. the book has no inscriptions. the binding is excellent and the book presents very well in cellophane..
