DILLWYN, Lewis Weston (1778-1855) : A1 Page Autograph Letter, to an Unnamed Recipient, Signed and Dated Cheltenham Sept.15 1841

Dillwyn writes to say that he has received a presentation copy of a work by W. Harvey. As he has no personal communication with Harvey he assumes it was sent in error and offers to pay for it. He also mentions noted engraver John Thompson, to whom he is obliged for kindnesses to the recipient. The work referred to is presumably Harvey's Genera of South African Plants. Lewis Weston Dillwyn, FRS (21 Aug 1778 – 31 Aug 1855) was a British porcelain manufacturer, naturalist and Member of Parliament.
