First edition. Small slim 8vo. 48pp + [iii] publisher's advertisements. With a large multi-panel folding hand-coloured map of the GWR dated June 14th 1841, measuring 28" x 9.5" as a frontispiece. Bound into unlettered black cloth, which is a little worn, marked and rubbed, with two indeterminate brown stickers to the head of the upper board. A very good copy of this scarce survivor: the earliest directory and guide to the Great Western Railway, published in the year that the London extension was completed (the very first GWR service would not depart Paddington for a further thirteen years; it was formally opened on 29 May 1854)..
