Julius Eichberg (1824-1893) was a German-born composer, musical director and educator who worked mainly in Boston. Educated in Europe and from a musical family, Eichberg came to the United States in 1857 and settled in Boston where he founded the Boston Conservatory of Music and served as Superintendent of Music in the Boston public schools.
