The deluxe issue of the first edition, limited to eighty specially bound and numbered copies (this being #50). 8vo. 251pp. Vellum-backed cloth lettered in gold at the spine with a horizontal gilt rule to the upper and lower boards. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Marbled endpapers with a ribbon place marker. Corner tips a little rubbed and some marking to the vellum at the backstrip. Former owner name inkstamped to a blank preliminary leaf, alongside an inkstamped date. A lovely crisp copy. No dust wrapper, probably as issued. A five-page introduction by the editor (and founder of the Scholartis Press - this being the third book issued under his imprint), precedes a selection of writings by E.H.Visiak, Philip Gosse, Daniel Defoe, Henry Fielding, Sir Walter Raleigh, Arnold Wright, Tobias Smollett, Lord Byron, Sir Walter Scott, R.L.Stevenson, John Masefield, A.E.W.Mason and others..
