This map was likely published in A Directory for the Navigation of the North Pacific Ocean by Alexander G. Findlay (1812-1875), an English geographer and hydrographer who had a prolific and respected career. His maps and charts were frequently consulted and widely used at the time. "R. H. Laurie" was a publishing firm named after Richard Holmes Laurie (1777-1858), a mezzotint engraver and publisher of maps and charts. Among the draftsmen he employed was Alexander G. Findlay. Following Laurie's passing in 1858, Findlay took over the business and continued to publish under "R. H. Laurie.". Map. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
