The scarce first edition of this early Thorndyke novel in the original red cloth. Inscribed on the front free endpaper by the auther to a personal friend, Älice Bishop, who's children he had tutored. The binding is somewhat age soiled but internally the book is clean and tight with mild offsetting to the endpapers. An about very good copy with a nice authorial inscription.
