Card wrappers featuring a design by Eric Gill, the wrappers nicked and chipped with several small areas of edge loss, the spine ends chipped, and with a contemporary former owner name inked to the head of the upper wrapper, alongside several inked numerals and with three of the contributors names on the upper wrapper circled in ink. About a good copy, but really very bright internally. Monroe, founder and editor of the celebrated periodical, had died from a brain haemorrhage three months earlier whilst trying to summit Machu Picchu, and here posthumously contributes six poems, with tributes, celebrations and recollections contributed by Ezra Pound, Carl Sandburg, Wallace Stevens, Marianne Moore, Malcolm Cowley, S.O.Levinson, John Gould Fletcher, Eunice Tietjens, Helen Hoyt, Edgar Lee Masters and others, plus poems by Louise Bogan and Peyton Houston.
