The author, Cynthia Hathaway Donnelly, died at the age of 97 in her home in Nashville, TN, on July 15, 2014. She had entered Vassar College at the age of 16 and graduated in 1937. She worked as Children's Books Editor for Doubleday. In addition to the present title, the author wrote the short book, Two Bridgets, and also a number of short stories which were published in various popular magazines of the day. Very scarce..
