Hulton Press, Ltd., London, 1954

Folio. Entire issues, February 13, 20 & 27, and March 6, 1954, each in original colorful, pictorial wraps, the fourth of which shows a seated Hemingway in the bush, gun in hand, aside a downed leopard, all issues light general wear-only, pages of some issues are discretely pulled loose from the staples; February 27th issue wrinkled a bit at top and bottom outer corners, and separated about 1.5-inches at top spine edges. Articles are illustrated with 23 photographs by Theisen, several of which are in color. From the opening paragraph, "The never-ending monsoon was breaking the sea white over the reef outside Mombasa as we came in through the channel. The hills rose green beyond the harbour and the white town, and that night the rain beat on the roof of the hotel, and there were pools of water in the half-finished streets when we started out in the morning for the upper country." Very scarce, certainly absent from most Hemingway collections as the publication was specific to the U. K.. Illustr.: Earl Theisen. Magazine. Book Condition: Good. Binding: Soft cover
