Addressed to Mrs. Johnson (presumably Mrs. Matilda Johnson, wife of Malcolm Johnson (1902-1958), prominent publishing executive). Henry French Hollis (1869-1949) was a U. S. Senator from New Hampshire and a regent of the Smithsonian Institution. This letter accompanies a copy of a book written by Hollis' cousin about her father (Hollis' uncle) Daniel Chester French. In most of the letter, Hollis discusses the life and character of Dan French, and also relates other family history.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Binding: No Binding
