FIRST PRINTING. An original UK quad for Rank Organisation's 1957 movie adaptation of Victor Hugo's famous novel, starring Gina Lollobrigida and Anthony Quinn. Folded, condition A (small Film board ink stamp to image otherwise fresh). Approx dimensions 40x30 inches, landscape format, now with loose-backed board stiffener. The story of Quasimodo, the hunchback bellringer of Notre-Dame cathedral and his devotion to the beautiful gypsy dancer Esmeralda. When the demented archdeacon Frollo sets out to abduct Esmeralda, he uses Quasimodo to do the evil deed on his behalf. However, Quasimodo turns from captor to saviour. One of the most enchanting and popular tales in all fiction This was the first version of the film to shot in colour. Note on Format; the 'quad' is a vertical view UK movie poster measuring approx. 30 x 40 inches, generally issued folded with one vertical and three horizontal creases. The standard (and most collectible) format for film posters in Britain, being the equivalent of the US 'one-sheet'.

Binding tight abd bright, pages yelloed. Dustjacket rubbed to extremities with a couple of minor nicks. The complete text of the famous classic from which the RKO-Radio picture starring Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara was made in 1939.
