The Mission Inn was originally an adobe house built in 1875 by Christopher Columbus "C. C." Miller of Wisconsin. C. C. was part of a group of settlers from the eastern states who moved west and established Riverside in 1869. In 1876, the house became known as the Mission Inn after C. C.'s wife, Maryanne Miller, began taking boarders. One of their four children, Frank A. Miller, is credited as being the founder of the inn because he was put in charge due to his father's long trips away from home as an engineer. Frank's sister, Alice, is also considered one of the inn's original owners and managers. The Mission Inn still stands and operates to this day.. Book. Book Condition: Near Fine. Binding: Soft cover
