The publication date on the cover is MCMXIII (1913), and there is also reference to an introduction from Dominee Dr W G C Bijvanck (this does appear, nor does it appear to be absent in the contents). The cover is in considerable misery. It has been subjected to stubbornly inconsiderate storage. The covers are worn, grubby, marked, stained and cracked about the spine. The spine is much sunned. However, the covers are heroic and stoic and are firm and sturdy. The pages are trimmed in gilt that is much dulled and has taken on a veneer of venerability. Inside the frontis and end pages have evidence of damp storage. The contents themselves are good. The pages are tight, clean, clear, benign, considerate, resolute and generous.
