Contemporary full calf boards, recased, spine in five compartments of raised bands and gilt floral motifs, gilt text on two, edges speckled red. , Gilt designs and titles to spine are fading, minor marginalia to title and map in period ink, otherwise the book is in very good condition, bound in decorative period binding with skilful restoration to the spine, text and plates are generally clean, with the occasional scattered light browning., 4to., P. The second edition of this work is virtually a re-issue of the first edition, published the previous year. Jacques Goujon (1621-1693) was a Franciscan friar who took part in the Crusade of 1636, and upon his return to France he recorded his travels.
