Original blue cloth gilt, lacks cloth to over half of spine, gilt text is present. Boards rubbed and marked, inner hinge visible but repaired and sound. xiv, 350 pages. Lacks front free endpaper. Engraved folding map frontis, with 10cm split along fold. All 20 engraved plates present, a few of them hand-tinted. Some page gatherings standing proud from main body of volume. Pages lightly browned and foxed, preface page has close vertical tear. A useful copy that could do with some restoration but is complete. SCARCE, locally printed early edition of this important topographical work which eventually ran to four volumes.
