5 x 8 inch page, "2, Whitehall Court, S. S. 1." printed at top. Handwritten on one side, excellent condition. Envelope from The Plaza, New York, included, with postmark ( October 9, 1946) and stamp. Douglas Francis Jerrold (1893-1964) was a British newspaper editor and author who supported the Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War. This letter is addressed to Mrs. Malcolm Johnson, wife of Malcolm Johnson (1902-1958), an executive vice president at Doubleday, Doran & Co. and then D. Van Nostrand Co., Inc. from 1937-1944. Mr. Jerrold thanks Mrs. Johnson for a "delightful Sunday" in Long Island.. Manuscript. Book Condition: Collectible-Fine. Binding: No Binding
