The author is a Czech archaeologist whoi came to South Africa in 1970 and at the suggestion of Revil Mason, undertook the excavation of the Rose Cottage Cave, a site which had attracted much attention of Henri Breuil and Prof C van Riet Lowe, mainly due to the rock art. She excavated the cave and wrote her thesis on the occupation of the site over some 50 000 years. A very uncommon text.
