Modern binding. Beautiful marbled paper over boards. Marbling features the colors of yellow, green, red, beige, black, and white. 4 1/2" x 6 1/2." 173 pages, complete. Two additional pages in back advertising other books printed for publisher Henry Brome. Covers are virtually pristine and intact except for minuscule rubbing. Pages are a bit fragile and browned with slight rippling and discoloration to the edges of the text block. A Very Good copy. Roger L'Estrange (1616-1704) was an English journalist, pamphleteer, and staunch Royalist during the English Civil Wars and Commonwealth period. L'Estrange was and has remained a controversial figure for his vitriolic language and pointed approach to combating his opponents. Interest Mistaken; or, The Holy Cheat is L'Estrange's response to The Interest of England in the Matter of Religion by John Corbet, a Presbyterian. L'Estrange addresses the two parts of Corbet's work and argues that Presbyterians created the conflict during the Stuart Restoration.. Book. Book Condition: Very Good. Binding: Hardcover
