Originally published during the German anti-Napoleon coalition years this book became one of the most popular and well known cookery books to have come out of Germany. It remained in print for over 200 years. This copy has marbled board covers and leather spine. It is a much owned, used book. It is strong, intact, healthy and secure. The board covers are much worn to all edges and corners. The leather spine is worn but dignified with wear at the edges with the boards. The gold printing is defiantly aglow. Even with taking its age and its use into account the contents are genteely antiquated. There is foxing to the papertrims and throughout. The pages are very tight and sure to the binding.
