Collection of seven original black and white photographs of John C. Dewees (also De Wees). No date, circa 1930s-1950s. One photograph measures 4 3/4" x 7 3/4." The other photographs each measure 8" x 10." Photographs are very clean and intact overall. A few have slight wrinkling. John. C. Dewees (1896-1962) was a Pennsylvania native and a longtime manager at the National Cash Register Company (now known as the NCR Corporation) who worked in Reading, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia, PA. He married Elva Burke in 1923, and after his career, he retired in Florida. Three of the photographs shows Dewees at NCR get-togethers. Two of these photographs shows Dewees on stage giving a presentation at a sales meeting in 1949. One of the photographs in which Dewees is shown on stage has a printed watermark in the lower-right corner and a stamp on the back identifying the photographer as Maurice Robbins. The third photograph shows Dewees at a table with a group of people, and they are surrounded by many other tables of people at what is conceivably a large employee Christmas dinner (circa 1940s-1950s). The other four photographs show Dewees individually posed, three of which show him at his desk. A fourth photograph is also an individual portrait of Dewees, which was likely done for professional purposes. This photograph includes a printed signature of the well-known photographer, Bachrach. Today, the NCR Corporation makes technology relating to business and sales, such as automated teller machines, barcode scanners, point-of-sale terminals, and self-service kiosks.. Photographic Image.
