First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 111pp. Cloth backed paper boards, lettered in gold at the spine. With a colour frontispiece by the author. Edges spotted, spine ends very lightly rubbed and with some browning to the endpapers. A very good copy with tanned and lightly worn dust wrapper with several small areas of miscellaneous staining. At the head of the front pastedown, obscured by the wrapper flap, is in intriguing pencilled inscription: "Christmas 1928 from Max". I cannot be certain that this is Beerbohm's hand, nor have I been able to trace any connection between him and the ownership details pencilled beneath the inscription in another hand.
